CAD Designer II – Water/Wastewater Conveyance & Facilities
Ardurra is a multidisciplinary civil engineering services firm seeking a CAD Production Designer II for their Water/Wastewater group in Oklahoma City, OK. The role involves performing moderately difficult to complex drafting and design assignments for municipal water and wastewater projects, leveraging advanced drafting techniques and design principles.

Responsibilities
Establish design criteria for assigned phases of water and wastewater projects, applying basic engineering principles under the direction of a project engineer
Prepare detailed pipeline and facility layout drawings, including unusual or complex designs requiring application of theoretical and practical engineering knowledge
Develop plan, profile, and detail drawings for:
Waterlines, sanitary sewer, and force mains
Pipeline appurtenances, structures, and specialty details
Treatment plant civil and/or mechanical layouts, piping arrangements, and site plans
Determine material quantities and perform supporting calculations using accepted formulas, references, and design standards
Provide design sketches, redlines, and technical guidance to lower-level design and drafting staff for preparation of finished drawings
Review and check work performed by junior production staff to ensure technical accuracy and adherence to standards
Support field assignments and may lead field walkdowns, coordinating with engineers to verify existing conditions and constructability
Regularly interface with engineers, project managers, clients, vendors, and internal disciplines to support coordinated project delivery
Assist project engineers with related technical tasks, such as:
Compiling and computing engineering data
Assisting with specifications and technical memoranda
Supporting cost estimating and quantity takeoffs
Assist with drawing schedules, task assignments, and workload coordination for assigned design tasks
Provide conceptual input during project planning stages for pipeline routing, layout alternatives, and facility configuration
Perform discipline-specific design tasks and utilize required software tools as directed by management
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Proven mastery of Production Designer I duties and 2 or more years of Production Designer experience
6–8 years of related industry experience, with 2–4 years performing design-level work preferred
Strong proficiency with applicable CAD applications (e.g., Civil 3D, Revit, Mechanical CAD), as required for pipeline and/or treatment projects
Proficiency with internal CAD standards and industry design practices; applicable CAD certifications preferred
Strong understanding of industry design standards and specifications related to water and wastewater infrastructure
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Demonstrated ability to lead or mentor technical staff at a task or project-component level
Strong understanding of advanced CAD drafting and fundamental design concepts related to water and wastewater pipelines and treatment facilities
Proficiency with Civil 3D for pipeline layout, profiles, pipe networks, and surfaces, and/or Mechanical CAD tools for treatment plant piping and equipment layouts
Ability to prepare and interpret complex design drawings, calculations, and sketches
Knowledge of industry design standards and municipal specifications applicable to water and wastewater infrastructure
Ability to independently complete assigned design tasks while coordinating closely with engineers and project teams
Demonstrated ability to mentor or guide junior technical staff on drafting and design tasks
Strong communication, organization, and coordination skills across multi-discipline teams
Preferred
Associate's degree or Technical Certificate in Drafting, CAD, or related field preferred
2–4 years performing design-level work preferred
Applicable CAD certifications preferred
