Responsibilities

Conduct bridge inspections and prepare field inspection reports
Determine load capacity ratings
Coordinate, plan, market, and manage multiple bridge inspection projects
Perform bridge safety inspections in accordance with NBIS and DOT, and supervise team members in the completion of inspections and reports
Preparing neat and organized reports
Developing task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner
Performing tasks on schedule and within budget as assigned
Working independently under the guidance of a Project Manager/Senior Engineer

Qualification

NBIS Certified Bridge Safety InspectorTxDOT precertification 6.1.1Bridge inspection experienceFracture Critical Inspection trainingSPRAT certificationReport preparation skillsCommunication skillsTeamwork experienceWork ethic

Required

Minimum 8 years related experience
NBIS Certified Bridge Safety Inspector (CBSI), with up-to-date refresher training
TxDOT precertification 6.1.1 Routine Bridge Inspection Team Leader or ability to obtain this precertification in near future
CBSI Team Leader
Good verbal and written communication skills
Valid U.S. driver's license
Positive experience interacting with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders
Accustomed to working in a team environment on challenging projects
Strong work ethic
Bridge inspection assignments vary greatly, but physical requirements like climbing embankments and manipulating ladders should be expected
Occasional overnight travel may be required
Candidate should not be averse to working at heights or adjacent busy roadways

Preferred

BSCE or related discipline preferred but not required
EIT and plan to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) Registration preferred but not required
Fracture Critical Inspection / Scour Evaluation training a plus
SPRAT certification a plus
Experience preparing reports for inspections, including iForms, BMS2, National Bridge Elements (NBE), etc
Familiarity with DOT Publications
