They are seeking a Senior Plant Electrical Engineer to manage large-scale engineering projects and provide technical guidance in power generation and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

Prepare electrical engineering drawings, single-lines, calculations, studies, and schematics
Coordinate and perform inspections, tests, and participates in on-site audits of equipment
Design independently, manage, and complete large, complex engineering projects including developing budgets, estimating project costs, tracking changes, monitoring schedules, and conducting post project review
Facilitate meetings and works with customers and stakeholders
Serve as an electrical safety resource
Perform analysis and review of generator units and electrical equipment conditions
Develop forecasts and performs short- and long-range planning for projects; prepare feasibility studies, including project scope, preliminary designs, estimates, investment, and operation cost
Perform and manage NERC/WECC compliance and develops new procedures and programs based on new regulations
Prepare, maintain, and submit reports; perform technical review of engineering reports and documents from outside consultants
Perform root-cause analysis and investigations on failed equipment and systems
Prepare, administer, and review contracts and specifications to ensure compliance with engineering and materials standards
Evaluate and monitor outside consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with specifications, bid proposals and obligations

Required

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university is required
Demonstrated engineering experience and possesses theoretical knowledge of electrical systems including power generation, power distribution, relay protection, and electrical systems
Understanding of control systems, utility operating policies, procedures and processes
Strong project management principles and practices
Strong computer skills including electronic/online tools
Valid, non-restricted driver's license

Preferred

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
Experience in fossil fuel, hydro-electric, combined cycle, bulk energy storage systems, water and wastewater treatment plants
