Lab Support Technician I- Slides & Blocks- PRN

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is a collaborative health care organization focused on improving patient care. They are seeking a Lab Support Technician I to assist with the retrieval and filing of internal slides and blocks, as well as supporting the Anatomical Pathology Department with various tasks.

Responsibilities

Assists with retrieval of internal slides and blocks. Weekly schedule is followed for multiple locations. Tracking of slides and blocks in Epic/Acros if previously pulled. Separates newer cases to be placed in oven for 24 hours prior to filing
Filing of internal cases chronologically into slide drawers then place into medal filing cabinets. Cabinets are labeled with corresponding case type and number range
Assists with internal request of pathology material. All cases are checked out and in to the tracking system in Epic and Acros
Scanning of block drawers into the Acros system when received from histology for filing

Required

High School, GED or formal education equivalent

Preferred

1 year of experience in a medical laboratory
