Responsibilities

Oversee full-cycle project accounting for multiple construction projects, ensuring accuracy in job cost tracking and financial reporting
Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and operations staff to setup/manage budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-complete projections in Procore
Review/Approve job-related cost invoices and ensure correct cost coding in TimberScan
Oversee monthly intercompany cost reconciliation (NPS Labor)
Prepare and process monthly owner billings in SAGE and ensure compliance with contract terms, including retention, billing schedules, and change orders
Identify and review underbilled projects and discuss with project team to maximize revenue
Ensure timely management of account receivables and payables, being proactive in working with Project Managers on collection efforts
Provide project team with financial reports to analyze job costs, trends, and cash flow
Investigate profit variances and cost overruns with project team in preparation for the monthly job review
Educate project teams and hold them accountable to NCI financial deadlines/procedures to ensure a timely month-end close and that all costs/billings are posted in the correct month
Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reporting, and audit requirements
Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy
Act as liaison between accounting and operations teams, supporting financial decisions and ensuring alignment with project goals
Train and mentor junior accounting staff or project accountants as needed
Other related duties as assigned or needed

Required

Proficiency in construction accounting software, such as Sage 300 CRE, CMiC, and Procore
Strong understanding of project billings and job cost accounting
Familiarity with industry-specific documentation (AIA billing forms, lien waivers, subcontractor compliance)
Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of working cross-functionally with project teams
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines
