Safety Review Panel Coordinator

Responsibilities
Maintain current and future topic lists, organize them into agendas, and post agendas and meeting materials to the HSERP working site (with partner data secured at alternative protected sites)
Coordinate and distribute meeting notices, agendas, and materials
Compile, prepare, and distribute HSERP meeting minutes
Track actions and action items to closure, maintaining the HSERP Action Item log
Monitor development and routing of decision packages; record panel decisions and actions
Coordinate HSERP representative assignments for invitations to other panels' meetings
Identify and coordinate ad-hoc members needed for reviews and meetings
Develop and manage document review schedules and meeting schedules in coordination with industry partners (Blue Origin, SpaceX), including HSERP meetings and Technical Comment Meetings (TCMs)
Lead and prepare materials for TCMs (pre-HSERP forums to resolve non-concurs and facilitate discussions between commenters and hazard analysis authors)
Serve as the primary point for ensuring records (minutes, actions, materials) are maintained in authoritative sources accessible via the HLS Program working site
Support charter and process refinements/evolutions (e.g., potential revisions to SLS-CHTR-002 to capture matured processes)
Coordinate distribution of HLS data to the Hazard Control Board (HCB) as appropriate
Other duties as assigned
Qualification

This position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information
Must have a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering, safety engineering, systems engineering, aerospace, or a related technical field
Must have 5+ years of recent and related work experience
In lieu of degree: Candidates with 9+ years of recent safety engineering work experience will be considered
Demonstrated experience in program/project coordination, safety review processes, or technical panel support within aerospace, defense, or high-reliability industries. Familiarity with hazard analysis, risk management, or safety certification processes (e.g., NASA standards like NASA-STD-8719.7 or similar)
Understanding of systems safety, hazard analysis reports (e.g., preliminary/final hazard analyses), risk assessment, and verification of hazard controls
Strong proficiency in scheduling, document management, action tracking, and preparing/distributing formal meeting materials and minutes
Excellent written and verbal communication for preparing minutes, agendas, and materials; ability to coordinate across NASA, industry partners, and multi-disciplinary teams
Proven ability to work collaboratively with government and commercial entities (e.g., coordinating with Blue Origin and SpaceX)
Proficiency with secure collaboration platforms, working sites/repositories (e.g., NASA internal tools), and standard office software (e.g., for agendas, minutes, tracking logs)
Preferred
Master's degree preferred
Presentation/Forum Comfort: Confidence in speaking or presenting in technical forums (e.g., leading TCMs or participating in discussions); willingness to build this skill through practice if not already strong
Technical Depth in Human Spaceflight: Prior experience with NASA human-rated programs (e.g., Artemis, Orion, Gateway, SLS), commercial crew/lander development, or cross-program safety interfaces
Process Improvement: Experience in refining charters, plans, or processes (e.g., updating implementation plans like HLS-PLAN-028)
Leadership in Coordination: Ability to lead scheduling and preparation efforts involving multiple stakeholders and resolve issues proactively
Attention to Detail and Multitasking: Strong organizational skills to handle evolving processes, frequent meetings, and action closure in a dynamic program environment
Security Clearance: Eligibility for NASA-required access (e.g., handling sensitive partner data); prior experience with protected/secure sites is a plus
