Responsibilities
Lead the design and redesign of safe, technically sound products that meet requirements
Estimate resource needs and coordinate with Engineering and Program Management to align with budgets, schedules, and staffing
Provide expertise in scope definition, work breakdown structures, and project compliance
Oversee CAD, Configurator, and PLM/PDM systems, working closely with IT to optimize documentation environments
Issue accurate engineering documentation to support manufacturing databases and part fabrication
Manage SolidWorks and CAD resource allocations to meet project deliverables and product development objectives
Ensure drafting group compliance with New Product Introduction, Value Analysis/Value Engineering, and ISO documentation standards
Establish and enforce consistent design documentation practices, including drawing formats and bill of material structures
Select, train, motivate, and evaluate drafting staff to maximize team performance
Complete special projects with a focus on quality, manufacturability, functionality, serviceability, and cost
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 10 years in chiller design or related product development
Mastery of SolidWorks and exposure to other CAD software
Experience with Configurator and bill of material structure
Proficiency with PDM and PLM Systems
Strong Communication skills - Written and verbal
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; or Associate's degree/certificate with 10+ years of HVAC product design experience
