Structural Analysis Intern-Orlando, FL

Responsibilities

Coordinate performance predictions and interfaces with the Mechanical Design IPT
Develop test plans
Support supplier and system level testing
Present status at informal internal meetings as well as formal program meetings with LM and the customer
Coordination with product design
Interface development
Coordination with other analysis group engineers
Materials, Production Operations, and other departments
Involvement in the maintenance and release of engineering drawings and documents

Qualification

Required

Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent accredited degree program)
Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of mechanical design of structure
Ability to obtain DoD Clearance must be US citizen

Preferred

Preferred experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA). This may include ABAQUS, COMSOL, ANSYS, coursework in materials of mechanics, solidworks, statics/dynamics coursework, etc
Foundational knowledge of Finite Element Analysis and tool packages such as ANSA, SimCenter, ANSYS, COMSOL, ABAQUS, etc
Desire to work in the analysis arena to include stress and dynamics while interacting with design, thermodynamics and/or electrical engineering
Projects focussing on areas including: Advanced Structural integrity/analysis, Stress‑Strain, Elasticity, Plasticity, Beam Theory, Frame Analysis, etc
Strong test planning, communication, and execution skills
