ITS Analyst II

The Texas Department of Transportation is looking for a motivated ITS Analyst II based out of Fort Worth, TX. The role involves developing and revising intelligent transportation systems, providing technical assistance, and coordinating system applications for software and hardware to enhance traffic management systems.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Consults users as the primary source of contact for ITS development and support
Coordinates and assists ITS designers and districts on system applications for software and hardware
Provides expert technical assistance and support for ITS
Assists programmers with system problems related to flow charts, diagrams and project design
Coordinates the development, implementation and maintenance of information systems, local area networks (LAN) and information security administration

Required

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, telecommunications. Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis
3 years experience in system analysis, design, computer programming. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis
Valid driver's license. This position requires driving a state vehicle
Applicable computer programming techniques and languages
Applicable computer software applications and hardware
Intelligent transportation and traffic management systems
Contract development and oversight
Coordinating labor, materials, and equipment
Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs
Standing-prolonged periods of time
Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
To be selected for and continue employment in this position, the selected incumbent must maintain the security or integrity of the agency's critical infrastructure and will be subject to regular assessments of criminal history and/or reviewed for connections to foreign adversaries
Required to work weekends and holidays
Required to work hours other than 8 to 5
Required to work under exposure to inclement weather conditions
Required to wear personal protective equipment provided by employer and comply with all safety requirements
Employee may be contacted during off-duty hours to see if he or she can report to work within 1 hour for emergency conditions
