Responsibilities
Collaborate with other members of the teams supporting GDIT's AI Center of Excellence and LUNA Digital Accelerator
Write and debug code for machine learning models and data preprocessing
Design, test, and refine prompts to optimize performance
Conduct experiments to fine-tune models and validate their performance
Analyze datasets to identify patterns and trends
Maintain documentation of code, experiments, and findings
Prepare reports or presentations on project status and outcomes
Create and modify new and/or existing technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials
Prepare datasets for AI use cases
Participate in regular team meetings, technical exchange sessions, and ideation meetings
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in an associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Systems Engineering, or a related STEM field from a United States-based college or university
At the start of this internship, you should have at least one year of school completed
Ability to work in office full-time
Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills
Desire to learn new software languages and technologies
Prioritize tasks and responsibilities
Be active in seeking out ways to develop yourself and gain new knowledge personally and professionally
Intuitiveness with an ability to identify and solve complex problems related to rapidly changing technology
A sense of genuine, intellectual curiosity and a nimble mindset
Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, and Teams)
AI Prompting, Information Systems, Machine Learning Techniques
Preferred
Basic knowledge of AI/ML technologies including Computer Vision, Object Character Recognition, Large Language Models, Agentic AI
An understanding of data science fundamentals
Basic knowledge of decision sciences
