Responsibilities
Join a forward looking and vibrant department and play an active role in general and high-risk obstetrics in this tertiary obstetric unit
Develop a special interest, which could include gynaecology sessions
Manage a community-based locality antenatal case load and contribute to high-risk obstetric clinics
Contribute to the core provision of core obstetric inpatient and outpatient care
Have management responsibility for the tier 2 and 3 resident doctor rota
Offer a consultant led service on Labour Ward, Obstetrics wards, Obstetric Triage and Caesarean section lists
Contribute to adverse event reviews, guidelines, quality improvement, complaints, departmental and undergraduate teaching as part of their SPA time allocation
Qualification
Required
Full GMC Registration
License to practice
Eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register
Evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview for those trained in the UK
Demonstration of equivalent training for non-UK applicants
Commitment to quality improvement and patient safety
Ability to contribute to adverse event reviews, guidelines, quality improvement, complaints, departmental and undergraduate teaching
