Progress Rail, a Caterpillar Company, is seeking an AI & DevOps Intern to join their Advanced Rail Technology team. The intern will work on modernizing the software development lifecycle by integrating AI-driven tools and enhancing automation and reliability within a legacy codebase.

Responsibilities

Implement and configure software quality analysis tools within CI/CD pipelines
Integrate AI-based solutions to improve code quality and performance
Automate testing and deployment processes for legacy systems
Collaborate with developers to identify and resolve integration challenges
Research and recommend modern tools and practices for SDLC optimization
Document processes and provide feedback for continuous improvement

Qualification

Required

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or master's program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field
Basic understanding of software development and QA methodologies
Familiarity with programming Python, Java, Typescript (Angular)
Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and CI/CD concepts
Interest in AI/ML technologies and DevOps practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred

Exposure to automated testing tools or containerization (Docker) is a plus
