REVENUE CYCLE SPECIALIST

Responsibilities
Ensures the appropriate CPT, HCPCs, and Diagnosis codes are utilized. Adhere to AMA, payer and government coding guidelines and regulations
Tasks: Follow service line Protocols when coding and entering charges, as approved by each practice
Respond to denial reporting and recommend protocol changes or TES edits to ensure payer specific charge capture and entry
Follow uniform billing best practice policies and procedures to improve billing performance against targets
Maintains, prioritizes, and monitors workflow to ensure assigned eligibility is completed prior to the date of appointment
Determine appropriate re-submission of patients that have time out responses
Review the Pre-Registration response and make needed changes for the patient i.e. demographic, insurance, patient not recognized, and other error statuses
Utilize chat templates to communicate with scheduled patients regarding Insurance, Referral, etc. as needed
Key or review and release charges into the billing system within 48 hours of receipt
Verify patient account information for accuracy
Verify accuracy and completion of encounter form; i.e. CPT codes, modifiers, ICD codes, provider name, and date of service
Keep manager apprised of trends in provider late charge submission, and/or trends in coding convention omissions
Qualification
Required
AA degree preferred
1-3 years of experience
