Financial Professional, Principal

Naval Nuclear Laboratory is a key player in ensuring the safety and reliability of the nation's naval nuclear reactors. They are seeking an experienced Finance Professional to join the Site Operations team, responsible for providing expert financial insight and analysis throughout the budget cycle, particularly for the Spent Fuel Handling Recapitalization Project.

Responsibilities

Provide support for SFHP financial forecasting and reporting efforts
Develop and maintain independent financial analyses and reporting to assist project stakeholders and FS in decision making
Assist SFHP project team in the preparation and review of budgetary documents
Ensure compliance with federal regulations and organizational guidelines and policies in all aspects of financial management
Identify potential financial risks and develop effective mitigating strategies
Provide periodic financial training to project stakeholders, including senior management, to enhance financial awareness

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
All candidates must be U.S. citizens
Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter
FMP is a government contractor and maintains a drug free workplace and workforce
All candidates must be able to pass a drug test in compliance with FMP company policy and 10 CFR 707

Preferred

Degrees in Business, Finance, or Accounting are preferred
Experience managing or overseeing multibillion-dollar project budgets
Experience conducting or participating in financial audits
Experience with large construction projects, preferably DOE major construction projects
Demonstrated ability to work independently from project stakeholders to maintain objective oversight
Experience with analyzing financial performance and/or workforce analysis (past, current, and/or future forecasts) and providing business recommendations
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to adapt to uncertainties and prioritize work effectively and efficiently
Excellent teaming skills including working across boundaries/locations
Prior financial experience in DOE, DOD, or other government agencies
