Assistant Project Engineer Intern (Summer 2026)
The Christman Company is looking for Assistant Project Engineer Interns for the upcoming Summer Internship Program. As a valued member of our operations team, you will have opportunities to gain hands-on experience during either project planning and/or construction phases, supporting the construction project team and developing construction management expertise.

Responsibilities
Provides administrative and technical support to the project team
Assists with Request for Information (RFI), document control and management, creation and tracking of submittals, cost tracking, and schedule updates
Assist in summarizing important discussions, questions, and decisions raised during regular project team meetings, owner meetings, and weekly subcontractor meetings
Reads through and understands specification books to ensure compliance and project quality
Assist the Project Manager with identifying necessary inspections, create project-specific inspection log according to Christman standards, establish relationships with inspectors, schedule inspections, and ensure readiness for inspection
Assist in updating contract drawings to reflect all approved changes and ensure trade contractor document updates
Assist Superintendents with daily reports and manage all progress and quality photos
Post all required safety information and signage to inform all workers and site visitors about site hazards and confirm appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including mandatory hardhats and safety glasses is worn at all times
Model safety awareness and planning at all times while observing safety practices and report any concerns to the Project Superintendent or Project Manager
Supports the logistics process for all safety initiatives listed in the site-specific safety plan
Assists with other tasks as assigned
Qualification
Required
Active, full-time Sophomore-Senior level student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Preferred
Previous work or internship experience in the commercial construction industry is preferred
Shows participation and/or leadership roles in student organizations or extracurricular club activities
