Principal Business Systems Analyst - Real Estate Core Delivery

The Principal Business Systems Analyst will support the Facilities and Real Estate department by analyzing requirements, writing user stories, and leading the development of project plans for complex technology solutions.

Responsibilities

Facilitate requirements gathering sessions to document business and system requirements with business units, project sponsors, and technology teams
Serve as a product champion by articulating product vision, prioritizing work, maintaining the product backlog, and monitoring deliverables to ensure timely completion
Communicate product and project status to leadership, sponsors, stakeholders, and executive management
Manage relationships with software vendors as needed
Collaborate with other Business Systems Analysts to document business processes, gather requirements, and identify opportunities for improvement
Partner with Architecture, Security, Compliance, and Internal Audit to design secure, compliant, stable, and reliable solutions
Develop detailed implementation plans for complex technology solutions
Perform problem determination and define escalation paths for complex issues
Adhere to product delivery processes, including overseeing system access, protecting data, procuring hardware/software, and engaging vendors
Obtain agreement on purpose, scope, and limitations of proposed technology solutions with vendors, business areas, and other technology teams under minimal guidance
Develop and document business acceptance criteria, perform UAT as required, and validate that acceptance criteria have been met
Serve as a subject matter expert on assigned systems, act as a primary contact for system issues, and resolve highly complex problems under general guidance
Advocate on behalf of business units to ensure solution designs meet user requirements and effectively address business process needs
Lead cross-functional workshops and discovery sessions to align stakeholders on business goals and technical feasibility
Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions that align with business strategy
Mentor junior analysts and contribute to team knowledge sharing through documentation, training, and best practices

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business, or a related analytical field, or equivalent experience
9+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, including identifying business processes and supporting process improvements
9+ years of experience analyzing problems and translating them into effective solutions
9+ years of experience planning, organizing, and managing all activities associated with delivering solutions in a distributed environment
7+ years of experience utilizing Agile project management and code management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps or Jira)
7+ years of experience translating complex business needs into clear technical requirements and user stories
7+ years of experience working in cross-functional teams with developers, QA, UX designers, and product owners
Working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), with the ability to operate effectively within defined roles and responsibilities
Provide after-hours support during and after application deployment, including researching complex issues, determining root causes, developing workarounds, and coordinating with vendors for resolution
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

Knowledge of infrastructure and systems concepts
Experience working with enterprise database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle)
Experience performing data analysis by creating and executing queries, interpreting results, and communicating findings to both technical and business audiences
Experience working as a Scrum Master within an Agile Scrum framework and applying it to product development and delivery
Experience with real estate or facilities management systems (e.g., IWMS, lease administration platforms, space planning tools)
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for reporting and data visualization
