Research Tech, Neurology

The Research Tech in the Department of Neurology will perform molecular and cell biology techniques, organize the laboratory, and support equipment maintenance while collaborating with research teams to investigate seizure mechanisms and their effects on neurodevelopment.

Responsibilities
Performs molecular and cell biology techniques
Performs histological and molecular assays, including but not limited to, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, western blotting, enzyme-linked immunosorbent (ELISA), cell cultures, and polymerase chain reaction (PCR)
Organizes the laboratory
Maintains equipment
Places orders for equipment and supplies
Performs a wide variety of complex experiments and reports results
Keeps organized analytical data of performed experiments
Provides support for equipment maintenance as needed
Acts as a liaison to students and laboratory personnel for training
Maintains laboratory supply requisition and management
May train junior-level staff
May help plan experiments or short-term goals
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in science or related field
Proficient in written and verbal communication skills
Maintains a high degree of professionalism
Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills
Demonstrates a high commitment to quality
Possesses flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
