Responsibilities
Lead and support the planning, design, and delivery of municipal water distribution and sanitary sewer projects, including:
Waterlines and transmission mains
Gravity sanitary sewer systems
Force mains and pipeline appurtenances
Independently execute or oversee pipeline design tasks, including alignments, profiles, hydraulic calculations, material selection, and construction details
Develop project design criteria, technical approaches, and design alternatives for pipeline projects
Prepare and review plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical memoranda
Coordinate utility layouts, easements, right-of-way constraints, and permitting requirements
Analyze complex design and constructability challenges related to trenching, phasing, maintenance of service, and existing utilities
Serve as task lead or small-project lead, managing scope, schedule, and budget for assigned projects or work packages
Coordinate with project managers, clients, surveyors, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies
Support construction-phase services, including:
Responding to RFIs
Reviewing shop drawings and submittals
Assisting with change evaluations and pay applications
Ensure designs comply with state and local regulatory requirements, municipal standards, and industry best practices
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and CADD designers
Participate in client meetings and represent assigned projects as a technical point of contact
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program
Professional Engineer (PE) license required (Oklahoma or ability to obtain by reciprocity)
5–8 years of progressive civil engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on pipeline and conveyance projects, including: Water distribution systems and transmission mains, Sanitary sewer collection systems, Force mains and related appurtenances
Demonstrated experience leading pipeline projects or major design tasks, including coordination of scope, schedule, and technical deliverables
Experience working directly with municipal clients and internal project managers
Working knowledge of pipeline-related permitting and regulatory requirements applicable to municipal infrastructure in Oklahoma
Proficiency with engineering design software and tools used for pipeline design and hydraulic analysis
