Start in 2026 SummerOneFourTwo Design Group is seeking a highly motivated Structural Engineering Intern to join their Houston team. The intern will assist with communication among project teams, prepare designs, review building codes, and produce structural calculations and design drawings.
Responsibilities
Communicate with technical drafting staff, clients, and other outside project team members
Prepare preliminary designs for clients
Review building codes to assure correct implementation of preparation and design
Attend client meetings, coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, and mechanical engineers
Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical drafting staff during preparation of construction documents for permit submittal as well as construction
Produce construction ready design drawings coordinated with all disciplines to assure complete and accurate agreement
Qualification
Required
Minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 out of 4.0
Enrolled in Civil Engineering degree program
Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong work ethic
Preferred
Co-op or Intern construction experience preferred
