Responsibilities
Must ensure agency compliance under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
Must review administrative appeals from denials of access to records made by USTR under the FOIA or the Privacy Act of 1974
Track requests for legal compliance
Process requests for records
Process searches relevant to requests
Respond to inquiries
Assist with the defense of FOIA requests that enter litigation
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business or engineering fields
J.D. Degree Required
Must be an active member of at least one bar
2-5 years of related experience
Must have strong experience in legal research
Must have excellent writing skills
Must have knowledge of FOIA
Must have administrative and/or civil litigation experience
Must have working knowledge of the FOIA
Must be proficient in all MS Office Suites
Must be Top Secret eligible
Preferred
Experience using Salesforce a plus
