Responsibilities
The Database Application Analyst position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing our internal financial reporting database applications for life insurance. Database applications include implementation and enhancements for new and existing products, automation of reporting requirements, ensuring the successful monthly load of the data warehouse, creation of control processes, producing reports, including automated reports and ad hoc analyses
The database application analyst translates complex business and actuarial requirements into programming specifications and technology solutions collaborating with business, finance and technology teams
This role includes both application development and production support (Provide L2 & L3 support for FMD oracle database applications)
Qualification
Required
4-year college degree with a minimum of 2 years in a database application development or database administrator role
Proficiency in Oracle (11g/19c) including oracle sql, and oracle pl/sql, sql\•plus, sql\•loader
LINUX OS (including shell scripting)
TOAD
Advanced Excel (e.g. VLookup/macros)
Business knowledge of Life Products
Ability to work on multiple projects with a sense of urgency and ability to change focus to complete critical systems
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills with a problem-solution attitude
Detail oriented, with a comprehensive approach to validating and proofing deliverables
Preferred
Knowledge of scheduling tools (ESP/Stonebranch UAC)
Knowledge of MS-Access, Python
