Responsibilities
Lead the full release lifecycle
Plan, schedule, track, and govern releases across development, testing, security, and operations teams
Own the release calendar and readiness processes
Align stakeholders, coordinate dependencies, conduct readiness and quality reviews, and drive authorization gates
Manage configuration and version control
Oversee change documentation, deployment artifacts, build packages, and compliance-aligned configuration management
Support automated and manual deployment operations
Ensure alignment with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and federal change management standards
Coordinate cross-functional communication
Partner with project managers, engineers, architects, testers, and end users to ensure smooth deployments and timely issue resolution
Maintain audit-ready documentation
Ensure traceability of changes, testing evidence, approvals, logs, and release records
Monitor release performance metrics
Track KPIs related to velocity, reliability, quality, and deployment stability—driving continuous improvement
Support application development + cloud migration initiatives
Assist with documentation, planning, and structured release cycles tied to modernization workstreams
Strengthen stakeholder relationships
Engage proactively, communicate clearly, and ensure ongoing alignment across technical and business teams
Qualification
Required
MUST HAVE ACTIVE CLEARANCE
MUST HAVE A BACHELOR'S DEGREE
10+ years of release management, configuration management, DevOps, or related experience in public-sector IT
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise systems and modernization programs
Ability to build structured release processes, mitigate risks, and maintain regulatory compliance
Certifications required: ITIL Foundation + one of the following: PMP, ScrumMaster, SAFe Agilist, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent
Strong understanding of Agile, SDLC, ITIL, QA practices, and change management frameworks
Ability to manage multiple workstreams across distributed teams
Strong communication skills for technical + non-technical audiences
Excellent documentation, risk assessment, and problem-solving abilities
Experience operating in dynamic environments with minimal supervision
Detail-oriented and able to rigorously uphold quality standards
Must be able to work EST hours and support occasional DC on-site collaboration
Preferred
Familiarity with cloud migration environments (AWS preferred)
Experience using Jira, Confluence, and other release or project tracking systems
