Responsibilities
Preparing and organizing litigation documents and case materials
Drafting discovery requests and assisting with discovery responses
Managing deadlines, calendaring, and maintaining case status updates
Filing pleadings and other documents with court clerks (primarily California state courts)
Assisting with drafting pleadings, motions, declarations, and supporting exhibits for attorney review
Summarizing complex documents, records, and case materials (including medical and employment records)
Coordinating record requests, subpoenas, and follow-up with providers and third parties
Assisting with deposition preparation and related logistics
Conducting legal research and compiling findings for attorney review
Communicating professionally with clients, opposing counsel, vendors, and court personnel as needed
Qualification
Required
Approximately 2+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal (California litigation strongly preferred)
A paralegal certificate (or equivalent qualifying education/experience under California requirements)
Strong familiarity with California civil procedure, litigation timelines, and filing practices
Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters at once
Comfort working independently and taking ownership of assignments
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word and PDF document handling
A willingness to learn and adopt new technology and systems
