Project Engineer/ Project Manager: Building Enclosure & Facilities

United Consulting is seeking a motivated and experienced engineering professional to join their team, providing consulting and project management services across facility and infrastructure projects. The role focuses on building enclosure systems and requires managing multiple projects while collaborating with clients and contractors.

Responsibilities

Perform and/or oversee field investigations, inspections, and testing related to building enclosure systems (roofing, exterior walls, fenestration, waterproofing, coatings, etc.) and other facility structures
Prepare and review engineering analyses, calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
Support or lead design development, remedial solutions, and commissioning activities for new and existing buildings
Conduct construction observations to verify compliance with plans and specifications
Apply sound engineering judgment to troubleshoot and resolve design and construction issues
Plan, execute, and manage projects from initiation through completion, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, schedule, and budget
Coordinate project resources, schedules, budgets, and risk management strategies
Facilitate communication between clients, internal teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders
Lead project meetings, provide regular progress updates, and prepare detailed project documentation
Review and approve invoices, prepare change orders, and support collections as needed
Promote and enforce safety practices in the field and office; participate in pre-task planning and hazard assessments
Maintain and advance quality standards in both technical deliverables and client service
Collaborate with internal reviewers at critical project milestones to ensure thorough oversight and quality control
Assist in the preparation of proposals, estimates, and marketing materials
Help identify opportunities for expanding services with existing and potential clients

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, or related technical discipline (Master's preferred)
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in engineering, building enclosure consulting, or related fields. (In lieu of degree, 9+ years of relevant experience.)
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

Preferred

Professional Engineer (PE) license, Registered Architect (RA), or related certification preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CAD or other design software a plus
