Responsibilities
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions for Ziegler and/or related entities
Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting standards with ability to account for complex transactions, such as capitalizing versus expensing, lease accounting, and inventory valuation
Managing all aspects of lease accounting under ASC 842, including new leases, modifications, and terminations
Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations
Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures
Assist with monthly financial documents such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
Serve as back up for various daily and monthly cash activities
Handle Month and Year End close
Reconcile various accounts, including bank accounts and general ledger accounts, to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with accounting standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required; accounting, finance or business related preferred
3-5 years of related work experience
Advanced Microsoft skills, specifically Microsoft Excel
Preferred
CPA or working towards certification preferred
