Responsibilities
Perform a variety of activities which involve standard procedures
Captures and manipulates common data, verifies adequacy and appropriateness; develops charts, diagrams, and standard reports
Inspecting machines or partially machined parts, using predetermined methods and sequences to ensure compliance with customer and company specifications and quality requirements
Devises setups to measure the accuracy of compound angles, exacting tolerances, and numerous dimensions
Works from drawings, sketches, and specification
Analyzes defective parts to determine cause of defect and recommends corrective action
May determine method and sequences necessary to perform inspections
May inspect first run and production parts where standard checking devices are not available and special inspection tools and layouts are required
May improvise or adapt inspection measuring instruments as needed
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
Qualification
Required
Considerable knowledge of machining operation
Some experience in technical or production positions
Ability to inspect machines or partially machined parts using predetermined methods and sequences
Ability to analyze defective parts to determine cause of defect and recommend corrective action
Ability to work from drawings, sketches, and specifications
Ability to devise setups to measure the accuracy of compound angles, exacting tolerances, and numerous dimensions
Ability to monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
Preferred
SAP experience
GD&T training
CMM experience
AS9100 knowledge
NDT certification
DISCUS Knowledge
