Responsibilities
Partner with Accounting, Finance, and Insurance Operations to collect and document business requirements
Analyze insurance workflows including policy administration, premium billing, claims accounting, commissions, and reinsurance (ceded/assumed)
Translate business needs into system designs, process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Support configuration, implementation, and testing of ERP and insurance platforms (SAP FI/CO, Oracle Cloud, Guidewire, Duck Creek)
Design and validate integrations across policy, billing, claims, and general ledger systems
Lead and execute unit testing, SIT, UAT; manage defects and change control processes
Develop and optimize accounting processes: premium recognition, UPR, loss reserves, IBNR, claims payments, commissions
Implement reinsurance processing logic (treaty/facultative; proportional/non‑proportional), bordereaux, and settlement workflows
Collaborate with actuarial and underwriting on reserve data, loss ratios, and reporting
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and reconciliation between subledgers and the GL
Develop dashboards and insurance/financial KPIs (written/earned premium, loss & LAE, expense trends)
Support statutory and regulatory reporting including NAIC statements, Schedule P, and Schedule F
Ensure system processes comply with GAAP, SAP, SOX, and state insurance regulations
Design and maintain internal controls; support internal/external audit requests
Document end‑to‑end controls, segregation of duties, and system data lineage
Act as liaison among Accounting, IT, Insurance Operations, Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims, Billing, and Compliance
Facilitate workshops, sprint planning, requirement sessions, and stakeholder alignment
Create and deliver end‑user training on new features and enhancements
Maintain SOPs, configuration guides, process documentation, and data dictionaries
Qualification
Required
Strong knowledge of accounting principles
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
Proficiency in SQL, Excel, Power BI/Tableau
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
Effective communication and project management skills
Preferred
Experience with data warehouses, ETL, and integration tools (Informatica, Azure Data Factory)
