Life Skills Internship

Ed Snider Youth Hockey & Education is dedicated to creating opportunities for under-resourced youth in the Greater Philadelphia Region. The Life Skills Intern will support the Senior Life Skills Coordinator by designing character development lessons and providing on-site support during summer camp programs.

Responsibilities

Assist in designing fun, engaging, and age-appropriate character development lessons for summer camp programs
Create character development curriculum for after-school programs and team sessions
Attend summer camp sessions across rinks (different Philadelphia neighborhoods) to help facilitate life skills lessons and activities
Provide on-site support to summer camp coaches by assisting with group management, activity setup, and co-leading lessons to ensure consistency and quality across sessions
Help prepare and lead training sessions for coaches on how to deliver life skill lessons effectively
Create guides, resources, and materials for Life Skills training purposes
Collect and help analyze feedback from coaches and students to improve curriculum content and delivery
Assist with ordering, organizing, and transporting supplies to ensure staff have appropriate materials for successful program delivery
This is a hybrid role, meaning you will work at the Snider office, Snider rinks, and virtually. The Snider office is in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia
This internship period runs from May to August 2026

Required

High School Diploma (or equivalent) is required
Experience working directly with students or children in educational, camp, coaching, or youth development settings
Creative thinker with the ability to develop engaging and youth-friendly lesson content
Flexible and able to adapt quickly to changing schedules, environments, and group needs
Confident speaking in front of groups and leading activities with energy and clarity
Familiarity with social/emotional learning (SEL)
Ability to collaborate effectively in team environments and communicate well with staff and youth
Knowledge of and experience working with diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
Advanced computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Successful applicants must be able to pass the PA Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Background Check, and FBI Fingerprint Criminal Background Check
