Start in 2026 SummerTyson Foods is a leading company in the food industry, and they are seeking an Operations Associate Summer 2026 Intern. This internship will involve leading various projects related to yield testing and production lines while providing support for technical components of beef carcass merchandising and meat engineering.

Responsibilities
Leading various projects including yield testing, building cost-to-produce, carcass chill studies
Supporting technical components of beef carcass merchandising and meat engineering relative to the carcass composition yield enhancement and gross margin improvement
Working under an experienced supervisor to gain the necessary training to lead teams of people to produce a high quality, safe product that meets customer specifications
Working cross functionally with operation support departments such as Human Resources, Accounting, Maintenance, FSQA, Sales
Ensuring that all product quality and safety processes are being followed promoting a safe work environment
Performing other responsibilities as assigned
Qualification
Required
Actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited university with at least one semester of school remaining following internship
Animal Science, Agriculture, Meat Science, or other related majors preferred
Management, group project and/or leadership experience preferred
Agriculture experience a plus
Must be able to communicate effectively; excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Excel familiarity with Access, Word, and PowerPoint
Must be willing to work multiple shifts
Motivated, self-starter who has the desire to learn from others
Leadership, team player, problem solver, multi-tasking, and leading by example
Preferred
Animal Science, Agriculture, Meat Science, or other related majors preferred
Management, group project and/or leadership experience preferred
Agriculture experience a plus
Benefits
Housing will be provided for any chosen candidate that is located outside of a 50-mile radius.
