Responsibilities

Develop plans for academic technology support for teaching and learning for use among university administrators, faculty, staff and students
Enable and enhance IT cohesion, process flow, and practices for the IT/Academic Technology Support services units
Other duties as assigned

Required

Doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent terminal degree) in education, instructional technology, psychology, information technology, quantitative methods, or a closely related field
At least seven years of progressively responsible leadership experience in academic technology, instructional innovation, digital learning, or related areas within higher education
Demonstrated experience integrating technology into teaching and learning environments
Experience supervising managers or directors in complex organizational settings
Proven ability to lead strategic planning, manage budgets, and allocate resources effectively
Strong understanding of pedagogy, instructional design, and accessible, inclusive teaching practices
Demonstrated success collaborating with faculty, administrators, and IT stakeholders
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences
Ability to foster a culture of innovation, assessment, data-informed decision making, and continuous improvement
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment

Preferred

Experience leading instructional design teams, LMS/Canvas support, or faculty development programs
Experience evaluating academic programs, instructional initiatives, or technology-enhanced learning environments
Experience conducting or supervising research or assessment using advanced quantitative or analytical methods
Record of presenting at conferences, facilitating workshops, or leading faculty training
Knowledge of CSU systemwide academic technology initiatives, policies, and structures
Familiarity with emerging instructional technologies, AI-enhanced learning tools, immersive environments, and learning analytics
Demonstrated commitment to equity-minded pedagogy and student-centered learning
Experience working in a large public university or comparable higher-education institution
