This high-impact role focuses on the execution and project management of complex claims audits, where the successful candidate will lead the audit lifecycle from planning to reporting.

Responsibilities
Audit Execution: Conduct deep-dive audits of P&C claim files (Auto, Property, General Liability, etc.) to evaluate technical handling, adherence to Best Practices, and regulatory compliance
Project Management: Own the end-to-end audit engagement. Create project timelines, manage milestones, and ensure the audit stays on schedule over the 12-month term
Financial Integrity: Review indemnity payments and Loss Adjustment Expenses (LAE) for accuracy, ensuring proper reserving practices and identifying potential leakage or fraud
Risk Assessment: Identify control gaps within the claims workflow and recommend actionable process improvements to senior leadership
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for the Claims Department. Facilitate opening/closing meetings and translate complex findings into concise executive reports
Data Analysis: Use data-driven insights to identify trends in claim frequency, severity, and cycle times to guide audit sampling
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in P&C Insurance, specifically within Internal Audit or Claims Quality Assurance (QA)
Proven expertise in P&C claim handling, including coverage interpretation, litigation management, and subrogation
Strong ability to manage multiple audit phases independently using project management methodologies (e.g., tracking milestones, resource allocation)
Proficiency with claims management systems (e.g., Guidewire, ClaimCenter) and audit software (e.g., TeamMate, AuditBoard)
High comfort level with 'doing the work' rather than delegating it
Ability to spot patterns in large datasets and translate them into risk profiles
Exceptional technical writing skills for formal audit reporting
Preferred
CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) or AIC (Associate in Claims)
PMP (Project Management Professional) is a significant plus
