The technician will travel extensively to troubleshoot and repair machinery, ensuring proper operation and maintenance for clients.

Responsibilities
Receives trip assignment from inside schedulers
Makes travel arrangements to arrive on time according to customer requirements
Interview customer to determine machine problems and then performs basic troubleshooting on machine functioning
Performs hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on machines to ensure machine is functioning correctly according to specifications
Coordinate with customer and parts department to order any needed parts
Troubleshoots and modifies or edits programs of Programmable Logic Controller’s (PLC)
Audit and documents missing or bypassed safety devices on machines and replace or repair
Train customers for successful operation and maintenance
Show operators how to do changes for different size or format packaging
Work under the direction of senior technicians to start-up new machines, checks power system and wiring; observes lockout tag out process to check machine components functionality
Establish that product is moving through properly
Communicates with internal staff to solve technical problems or project issues
Prepares concise, accurate, professional and timely Equipment Acceptance Reports, Service Work Reports, Expense Reports and other support documentation for customer visits; communicates with internal staff to report on service activities
Complete and submit reports
Periodically inspects customer spare parts inventory and recommends additional parts orders as needed for successful equipment maintenance and operation
Qualification
Required
Strong mechanical and/or electrical skills
Extensive knowledge of machinery for the beverage / packaging industry
Analytical thinking for solving technical tasks
Programmable Logic Controller's (PLC) experience, electrical and/or mechanical
Flexibility, assertiveness and organizational skills
Self-confidence and friendly appearance
Willingness to travel up to 90% of the time
Passport or willingness to obtain a passport
