Credit & Collections Manager

Confidential is a leading provider of hardware committed to simplifying customer work. The Credit & Collections Manager will lead the credit and collections function, support cash management, and collaborate across departments to enhance financial decision-making and improve processes.

Responsibilities

Oversee the full credit approval process, including reviewing applications, conducting bank and trade reference checks, and determining appropriate credit limits and payment terms
Continuously assess customer creditworthiness by analyzing financial statements, payment history, purchase activity, and other risk indicators; recommend credit approvals, denials, and special terms
Maintain and update customer credit files, histories, and limits; ensure accurate documentation and compliance with internal policies and bank agreements
Direct and support collection activities, including reviewing aging reports, managing past-due accounts, resolving billing disputes, and implementing strategies to achieve monthly collection goals
Monitor key credit and collection metrics such as DSO, outstanding balances, and delinquency trends; audit delinquent accounts and recommend bad-debt write-offs when appropriate
Assist with developing, updating, and evaluating short-term cash flow forecasts by incorporating receivable and payable trends; analyze forecast variances and provide insights to improve cash allocation and liquidity planning
Ensure liens, bonds, and other required instruments are properly established and maintained to safeguard company assets
Prepare risk assessments and credit reports summarizing findings and recommendations for internal stakeholders
Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, finance, and other teams to exchange information, resolve issues, and improve credit-related processes
Hire, train, supervise, and develop the credit team; provide ongoing guidance, monitor performance, and implement procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; minimum of six years of credit, treasury, or financial analysis experience, including supervisory responsibilities
Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a high-performing credit or finance team
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret financial data and assess risk
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and interact professionally with customers
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfort working with financial systems, data analysis tools, and reporting platforms
Demonstrated customer service orientation and sound judgment when resolving credit, collections, or billing issues
Adaptability and willingness to work within evolving priorities while maintaining a positive, solutions-focused mindset
