Senior Microsoft Fabric Engineer
GSquared Group is a woman-owned boutique technology services company in the Atlanta area. They are seeking a Senior Microsoft Fabric Engineer to lead data modernization efforts, focusing on transitioning core analytics and operational workloads into the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.

Responsibilities
Lead the migration of on-prem and cloud data sources into Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, and Data Factory pipelines
Architect and develop scalable data pipelines using Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, and Spark notebooks
Build and optimize Lakehouse and Warehouse models to support analytics, reporting, and downstream applications
Use Python for data transformation, automation, and orchestration tasks within Fabric
Drive and execute SQL Server upgrade projects, ensuring compatibility, performance tuning, and smooth cutovers
Write, optimize, and review complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance-critical workloads
Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to define data requirements and best practices
Implement governance, security, and workspace standards across the Fabric environment
Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve data pipelines and platform performance
Qualification
Required
5–8+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields
Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake, and Spark
Strong proficiency in Python for data processing and automation
Deep expertise in SQL, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning
Experience upgrading SQL Server environments (2012 → 2016/2019/2022 or similar)
Background in cloud data ecosystems (Azure preferred)
Ability to design scalable, maintainable data architectures
Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross‑functionally
