New Grad, Entry LevelELLWOOD is seeking a Metallurgical Engineer I to provide technical support for the primary melting operation, which includes processes such as arc furnace operations and ingot thermal handling. The role involves investigating non-conforming materials, participating in process development, and conducting tests to ensure product quality.

Responsibilities
Investigate root cause and disposition non-conforming material and customer claims
Participate in process development/improvement for new and currently produced alloys
Provide training and guidance for hourly and salaried employees
Develop and oversee trials
Evaluate technical specifications and economic factors relating to process or product design objectives
Conduct or supervise test on raw materials or finished products to ensure their quality
Design and direct the testing or control of processing procedures
Analyze product failure data and laboratory test results to determine cause of problem and develop solutions
Qualification
Required
BS in Metallurgical or Material Science preferred or a commensurate level of related experience and education
Strong Organizational Skills
The ability to effectively collect and analyze data to derive applicable information
The ability to concisely communicate to internal and external customers in written and verbal format
The ability to present comprehensive accurate data to diver audiences
The ability to work effectively with a team and independently
Preferred
Experience in a steelmaking environment preferred
