Responsibilities
Support the mission of CEH by performing a variety of administrative and environmental health functions during New York State’s summer season and beyond
Assist CEH district office environmental health staff by performing a variety of critical administrative support functions
Perform environmental health inspection functions in the field for the purposes of ensuring compliance with the New York State Sanitary Code and environmental health regulations
Gain real world experience in the field of public health through on-the-job training
Qualification
Required
Documentation of current matriculation must be submitted with your resume
Must maintain matriculated student status to retain employment
Candidates that are currently employed by other New York State agencies or State University of New York campuses may be required to obtain dual employment clearance before hire
This position may require travel throughout New York State including overnights to areas not served by public transportation
Preferred
The preferred candidate will be an undergraduate or graduate student interested in exploring a career in public/environmental health
They will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Problem solve effectively
Have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other computer programs as needed
