They are offering a Summer 2026 Internship Program for law students to gain immersive experience in various bureaus, assisting attorneys with prosecutions and legal research while observing court proceedings.

Responsibilities

Observe the inner workings of a prosecutor's office, including witness interviews and court proceedings
Assist the attorneys with all phases of prosecutions and preparing cases for grand jury presentations, hearings, trials or appeals
Perform legal research, draft correspondence and memos, assist with file organization and case management, review, redact and compile discovery materials, and perform administrative tasks related to case preparation, including filing, copying and scanning, answering phones, scheduling meetings etc
Visit and tour other relevant law enforcement entities, including Nassau County Correctional Facility, the Office of the Medical Examiner's ballistics, DNA, toxicology and latent print laboratory, and the Nassau County Police Department's state-of-the-art training facility

Required

Open to first, second and third-year law students
Limited number of junior or senior undergraduate students with a demonstrated interest in criminal justice
Hard working individuals who are committed to public service
Excellent research, verbal and writing skills
