Responsibilities
Offer effective advice to Cross Functional Stakeholders on existing and forthcoming regulations, gaps, and risks
Translate and implement local regulatory requirements for Product and Engineering teams, facilitating seamless execution. This includes a deep working knowledge of Regulation E and other conduct-related payments and financial services regulations
Empower Product Teams to build risk-based products, processes, and controls and identify and respond to risks, ensuring that regulatory compliance is at the heart of the product development cycle
Perform pre-launch and ongoing product compliance regulatory analysis and risk assessments for new and existing products in the US and Canada
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the Compliance and Risk Program to internal and external stakeholders, including Global Committees, Regulators, Internal and External Audit, and Banking Partners
Collaborate with Compliance colleagues to ensure Wise Product Teams are constantly aware of the most recent regulations and guidance
Contribute to audit management and, where required, challenge audit findings in collaboration with Compliance second line and Product teams
Support Regulatory and Risk discussions with clear action plans and updates on previously identified issues and emerging risks
Define Regulatory Risk metrics to assess the health of Wise’s new licenses and products in the US and Canada
Determine when local regulatory requirements can be met through existing global controls and when unique requirements necessitate prioritization, optimizing for the utilization of existing controls where feasible
UDAAP Oversight: Own the process to refine and improve customer communications, setting clear expectations and guidelines for marketing teams to ensure compliance with UDAAP (Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices) regulations
Qualification
Required
Proven experience in a similar product compliance or regulatory role within a fintech or financial services environment
Experience with and a deep understanding of payments and financial services regulations, including Regulation E and UDAAP
Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making on major projects like product launches, remediations, and audits
Experience building and scaling compliance frameworks
