3+ years expKier + Wright is seeking a Development Services Civil Engineer responsible for engineering analyses, design, and permitting activities related to water and wastewater systems. The role involves technical project work, limited project management, and mentorship of junior staff, including preparation of design documents and support for client coordination.

Responsibilities
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analyses using tools such as WaterCAD, HASS, Openflows Sewer, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and / or StormCAD
Prepare technical studies, design reports, stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP), and other project documentation
Support design and permitting of new water, recycled water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects
Draft and review plans, profiles, and details using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam
Assist in project management, including scheduling, budget tracking, and subconsultant coordination
Collaborate with senior staff on proposals, technical reports, and presentations
Mentor interns and entry-level staff on drafting, design, and technical skills
Conduct occasional field visits for inspections, field checks, and data collection
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
3–7 years of professional water resources engineering experience
E.I.T. certification required
Preferred
Experience with water, wastewater, fire system, and stormwater modeling software (OpenFlows Sewer, HASS, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, StormCAD, WaterCAD preferred)
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam
P.E. license in California preferred (or ability to obtain within 1–2 years)
Familiarity with FEMA LOMC submittals and permitting processes a plus
