Engineering Technician - Reservoir and Production

Responsibilities

Provides responsive support to assigned teams; works with engineers within the teams to ensure all databases and applications are efficiently integrated. Help in creating consistency in the Aries database for the Asset Team. Maintain the Prospect Inventory Database (PID) and support weekly meetings and reviews
Support Engineers on generation of AFEs along with supporting presentation packages and the development of economic justification cases. Provide weekly update of Nymex price files to Aries
Create and utilize spreadsheets and databases, screening and analyzing data, generating plots, and use of other analytical tools
Support of Reservoir Engineers in preparing regulatory filings of SRI reports annually for applicable wells and fields
Prepare and maintain field wide wellbore utility charts on fields
Perform consistent production surveillance on fields/wells to include trend variance analysis and report to Engineers
Prepare and Publish Monthly Production Variance report and slide deck
Ensure major fields are addressed; ensure major variances in volumes are addressed
Seek explanations for same through conversations and learnings with teams/production Engineers and provide on a timely basis each month
Track production daily and report same monthly as part of the monthly variance process. Compare and contrast Forecast and Budget
Develop and maintain networks and relationships with key peers and colleagues in other teams to promote the sharing of information/ideas and general skill development
Take accountability for and prepare well-count determination for Annual 10K Reports before timelines required and provide Manager for QAQC/review
Support presentation of operating plans, annual budgets, and other organizational activities. Track and report quarterly Recomplete and Workover activity for the BOD slides. Prepare Economic metric slide for drill wells and recompletions in the Budget

Required

Minimum 5 + years engineering technician experience in a similar role required
Ability to use rigorous logic, critical thinking skills and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions
Proficiency in Aries DB is a requirement, along with the ability to work in applications such as RIO, IHS Perform, IHS Harmony, and WellEz
Strong Emphasis on use of Excel for data manipulation
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Access, PowerPoint & Outlook)
Ability to manage time and prioritize projects to meet established deadlines
Familiarity with field operations: understanding of offshore oilfield operations
Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
Strong communication skills: ability to interact professionally and effectively across the business
Able to grasp new concepts quickly and work with minimal supervision
Strong proficiency for working with (and engaging) team members with a specific desired outcome to extract more routine data handling from engineers in ways that will allow engineers to do focus their time on analytics versus data handling
Strong work ethic with an emphasis on data quality & data accuracy
Time management awareness, technical acumen, & high grading prioritization of deliverables

Preferred

Associate degree in technical/engineering field, preferred
Bachelor's degree in related field a plus
