Data Engineer (AWS/Redshift) - Tampa (Contract-to-Hire)

Confidential is seeking a Data Engineer to join their team in a hybrid role based in Tampa, FL. In this position, you will design, develop, and support the data warehouse environment built on Amazon Redshift, while also building impactful dashboards and reports using Amazon QuickSight.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable data warehouse solutions using Amazon Redshift
Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and integrate data from a variety of sources, including databases, external files, and structured/unstructured datasets
Build, optimize, and maintain ETL pipelines to support efficient data ingestion, transformation, and loading using AWS-native tools
Ensure data quality, integrity, availability, and performance across data storage and processing systems
Implement and support data governance, security, and compliance best practices
Develop and manage data pipelines and workflows using AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, Athena, DMS, and Redshift
Design and publish interactive dashboards and reports in Amazon QuickSight to support analytics and decision-making
Perform data validation and analysis to ensure accuracy and consistency across multiple data sources
Diagnose and resolve complex data processing and performance issues
Stay up to date on emerging trends, tools, and best practices in data engineering and AWS technologies

Required

Demonstrated experience as a Data Engineer, with an emphasis on data warehouse design and development
3-5 years hands on experience with AWS services including Redshift, S3, and QuickSight
Experience working with MySQL databases and data formats such as Parquet
Solid understanding of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing principles
Experience designing and maintaining ETL frameworks and tools
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Must be local to Tampa FL, and willing to work hybrid
