This role involves managing payroll cycles, ensuring AP operations, and providing general accounting support with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities
Run final payroll cycles using Paylocity
Manage multi-state payroll close-out (approximately 25+ states)
Reconcile payroll taxes at the state and local level
Ensure proper historical payroll data retention for audit and compliance
Prepare payroll data for downstream system migration
Maintain day-to-day AP operations to ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time
Support expense and card activity currently managed through Ramp
Apply judgment around vendor history, coding logic, and exception handling
Prepare AP data for an upcoming platform transition
Step in to support AP accounting duties as needed
Partner closely with senior finance leadership to stabilize operations during staff transitions
Absorb institutional knowledge quickly and document processes for continuity
Qualification
Required
Strong accounting foundation with direct ownership of payroll and AP
Prior experience supporting system transitions, integrations, or M&A-related operational change
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions without constant oversight
Comfort stepping into ambiguity and high-accountability environments
Preferred
Paylocity (highly preferred)
Ramp
NetSuite (nice to have)
Experience in technology, media, or high-growth companies
Background at the Manager, Controller, or Practice Leader level
