Research Technician, Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research

Responsibilities
Responsible for performing mouse and human pluripotent stem cell culture and in vitro heart cell differentiation
Learns cell biology, genomics, and bioinformatics. Learns basic molecular biology and biochemistry experiments
Responsible for mouse colony management including breeding, weaning, collecting embryos, and assists students and postdocs with their research
Presents research in weekly lab meetings and learns and presents in our weekly journal clubs
Orders and stores consumables, keeping a tab on usage and preparing common buffers and chemicals
Performs a wide variety of complex experiments and reports results
Keeps organized analytical data of performed experiments
Provides support for equipment maintenance as needed
Acts as a liaison to students and laboratory personnel for training
Maintains laboratory supply requisition and management
May train junior-level staff
May help plan experiments or short-term goals
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in science or related field
Proficient in written and verbal communication skills
Maintains a high degree of professionalism
Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills
Demonstrates a high commitment to quality
Possesses flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
