Production Quality Specialist

Responsibilities

Assist in investigating out-of-specification (OOS) results or deviations
Continuously monitor Encapsulant line parameters (thickness, gel count, surface defects)
Conduct in-process inspections for Encapsulant and Backsheet Line
Verify PET coating line settings, adhesion results, coating weight checks, and surface quality
Monitor slitting line performance, including edge quality, width accuracy, burrs, and roll winding quality
Perform coating adhesion tests (T-peel, crosshatch), optical clarity checks, and defect mapping
Validate recipe settings, startup parameters, and job changeovers for all three processes
Ensure all testing is completed in a timely and compliant manner
Identify and contain nonconforming material, coordinate quarantine and labeling
Support root-cause investigations using 5-Why, Fishbone, and similar tools
Assist in corrective action implementation for recurring defects
Participate in Layered Process Audits (LPAs) across all three production areas
Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing scrap and improving product yield
Record quality data in MES/ERP systems and maintain accurate inspection logs
Identify and contain nonconforming material; coordinate quarantine and labeling
Support root-cause investigations using 5-Why, Fishbone, and similar tools
Assist in corrective action implementation for recurring defects (voids, coating skips, scratches, blocking, uneven winding)
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and internal procedures
Provide operator training on defect recognition and quality procedures
Participate in Layered Process Audits (LPAs) across all three production areas

Required

Associate or bachelor's degree
The ability to pass a drug test and background check
Must be able to read and write in English or to communicate in American Sign Language
Available to work any shift, including weekends and holidays
Flexible work availability and able to work overtime as needed on same-day notice
The ability to bend, stoop, grip, reach, and lift to 50 lbs
Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facility

Preferred

Experience in polymer extrusion, PET coating, or slitting operations
Knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems
Experience with SPC, Cp/Cpk, AQL sampling, and root-cause analysis tools
