Responsibilities
Leading and directing a team to achieve pedigree farm objectives
Achieving selection targets
Maintaining genetic security and purity
Fostering a strong culture of biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety
Developing and maintaining a qualified and effective team
Communicating and collaborating on pedigree-related objectives
Producing accurate selection reports
Supervising a team primarily composed of non-exempt team members
Mentoring exempt team members
Providing training to non-exempt team members
Monitoring work quality
Coaching team members on performance
Contributing to team member pay decisions and changes
Qualification
Required
A college degree or equivalent experience is required
Two (2) or more years of progressive experience in the relevant field
Proficiency in data collection and data management using Microsoft Office applications is required
The team member must use safe lifting techniques
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; and communicate verbally or audibly
The team member may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Team members must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid contact with all avian species (including chickens, ducks, and birds)
The Company's Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times, and all Cobb Farm Hatchery Biosecurity Standards must be adhered to
