The Child Support Manager will provide leadership in the administration, supervision, and coordination of the Child Support Program, ensuring effective operations and compliance with established guidelines.

Responsibilities
The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership in the areas of administration, supervision, coordination, and day-to-day operations of the Child Support Program
The position provides direct supervision to 4 Child Support Supervisor position and one Staff Development Specialist and indirect supervision to a large staff of Senior Child Support Agents along with administrative Processing Assistant positions
This position is responsible for: Strategic planning for the child support division based on established guidelines, statutes, regulations, policy and needs of the program
Planning with and monitoring staff to ensure that accurate records, controls and reports are generated and maintained
Planning and coordinating all activities will result in the location of non-custodial parents, establishment, enforcement and distribution of support orders
Strategic planning with supervisors regarding work operations priorities, deadlines and setting short- and long-term goals for the division
This position is responsible for active and terminated child support cases in the CSE Automated Case Tracking System to ensure that cases are entered up-to-updated and terminated timely
The job duties also include providing assistance with budgeting, internal planning, community planning and community relations
Qualification
Required
Graduation from high school plus six years of experience in investigative, judiciary, eligibility, attorney's office, or related work which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the work, including two years of IV-D experience and two years of supervisory experience; or four year degree plus three and one half years of experience in the Child Support Enforcement Program; or Associate of Arts Degree in business, human resources, law enforcement or closely related field and four years of experience in investigative, judiciary, eligibility, attorney's office, or related work, including two years of IV-D experience
Thorough knowledge of Child Support Enforcement Program; related legal procedures, judicial operations, office management practices and procedures and supervisory practices and management techniques
Skill in interviewing, investigating, and analyzing case variables
Ability to organize and summarize case information
Ability to represent program in oral and written form
Ability to plan, direct, monitor and develop the program
Coaching, counseling, training and motivating staff
Child Support Supervisory and management experience
Presentation and public speaking skills (written & oral)
Skills in coaching, counseling, training and motivating staff
Technical knowledge (computer skills, automated systems)
Preferred
Extensive years of experience supervising/managing a child support division in North Carolina at the state or county government level
Ten years of IV-D Experience
Ten years of Child Support Experience
Five years of Supervisory Experience
