Responsibilities
Monitor and support overall product quality throughout the manufacturing process
Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using standard inspection equipment, including CMMs, calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gages, profilometers, contracers, and vision systems
Develop, modify, and maintain CMM, contracer, and vision system programs
Participate in Layered Process Audits (LPA/LDM), Gage R&R studies, and SPC activities
Utilize computer systems to communicate effectively with all levels of management
Support validation and coordination of general CMM maintenance, including working with external service providers for troubleshooting and repairs
Provide quality and metrology support to plant operations as needed
Support validation and verification of measuring equipment used in production
Collect, document, and analyze inspection data using various data input and quality software systems
Perform annual part layouts and dimensional studies to ensure products meet or exceed customer requirements
Support part layouts and CMM programming during prototype builds and production launches
Assist with training inspectors and other personnel involved in quality inspection activities
Work independently with strong time management and organizational skills
Review and verify CMM data for accuracy prior to submission
Understand and comply with Quality and Environmental policies and objectives
Follow all safety, environmental, and quality procedures and work instructions
Adhere to all company employment rules and regulations
Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Quality Manager
Qualification
Required
Prior experience with CMM or inspection programming
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Working knowledge of SPC and MSA methodologies
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a production environment
Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to communicate across production and management teams
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, including GD&T
Solid understanding of proper measurement and metrology techniques for GD&T features
High standards of work ethic, organization, and professionalism
