Responsibilities
Develop and execute enterprise-wide credit and collections strategies aligned with corporate financial and growth objectives
Establish, monitor, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) including DSO, aging trends, dispute metrics, and collection effectiveness
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce bad debt exposure, and improve cash flow predictability
Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Customer Success to balance revenue growth with disciplined risk management
Design, implement, and refine credit policies and procedures governing customer evaluation, credit limits, and payment terms
Conduct comprehensive credit risk assessments using financial statement analysis, credit reports, lien rights, and industry data
Support credit decisions related to new customers, contract renewals, and expanded scopes of work in a project-based environment
Manage trade credit insurance programs and third-party collection agency relationships
Lead escalated and complex collection matters, negotiating payment plans and resolving disputes while preserving customer relationships
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 6–8 credit and collections professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous learning
Recruit, onboard, and retain top talent; conduct performance evaluations and establish individual development plans
Set clear expectations, productivity standards, and best practices to support scalability and organizational growth
Champion process optimization and technology adoption across ERP systems and collections platforms
Leverage data, automation, and analytics to improve receivables forecasting and decision-making
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, SOX controls, and internal audit standards
Support audits, lender reporting, and internal reviews related to credit risk and receivables
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
8-10+ years of progressive experience in B2B credit and collections, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management capacity
Demonstrated success in reducing DSO, improving cash flow, and managing large AR portfolios
Strong expertise in financial statement analysis, credit risk assessment, and B2B collections strategies
Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and collections management software
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business intelligence tools
Exceptional leadership abilities with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
Preferred
Experience in energy, distribution, or manufacturing industries
Experience implementing process automation and digital transformation initiatives
