Responsibilities

Provide guidance and assistance to students individually or in small groups with grammar, writing skills, principles and concepts; offering feedback with formulating ideas for papers, and/or essays in all subjects and other written material
Facilitate group seminars during the semester, on reviewing basic grammar, the rhetorical modes, writing research papers (APA, MLA, Chicago style…), and writing for different disciplines
Assist with proctoring and testing services as needed
Other duties as assigned by the AD or Executive Director

Required

Effective written and verbal communication
Knowledge of the expectations for academic writing
Ability to quickly assess a document's writing strengths and weaknesses
Deep understanding of English grammar, rhetoric, and the writing process
Familiarity with MLA- and/or APA-style writing, research, and documentation

Preferred

Master's degree preferred
