Manufacturing Engineer
Henis Group is an established aerospace manufacturer producing precision machined and fabricated metallic components for Tier 1 and Tier 2 customers. They are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer who will own both process engineering and work directly on the shop floor, driving practical process improvements.
Responsibilities
Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including routings, BOMs, and work instructions
Design tooling, fixtures, and shop aids to support efficient and repeatable production
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC mills and lathes, including 3-axis and 5-axis machines
Work directly with Haas, Mazak, and Mori CNC equipment
Program and support machining operations using Mastercam
Estimate run times for machining and assembly operations to support quoting and cost analysis
Drive continuous improvement, cost reduction, and process optimization on legacy and new programs
Document processes and support compliance with AS9100 requirements
Work within Shop Tech / JobBOSS to manage jobs, routings, and engineering data
Collaborate closely with production, quality, and leadership in a hands-on, team-oriented environment
Qualification
Required
Multiple years of experience in manufacturing or production engineering
Strong hands-on CNC machining background (setup and operation, not just programming)
Experience with 3-axis and 5-axis machining environments
Proficiency with CAD/CAM software, specifically Mastercam
Solid understanding of aerospace manufacturing standards and quality systems
Ability to read and interpret prints and GD&T
Comfortable working directly on the shop floor in a small, specialized operation
Practical problem solver who can balance engineering theory with real-world production constraints
Preferred
Aerospace manufacturing experience
Experience designing tooling and fixtures
Exposure to Shop Tech or JobBOSS ERP systems
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience
